ATLANTA — The criminal trial of a dozen public school educators opened here Monday with prosecutors alleging that the teachers and administrators had engaged in a “widespread, cleverly disguised” conspiracy to cheat on standardized test scores in an effort to protect their jobs and win favor and bonuses from administrators.
But a procession of defense lawyers used their opening statements to cast doubt on the trustworthiness of witnesses who will be called by the prosecution in the trial. Some of them, they said, had made contradictory statements, were of questionable character, or had received plea deals or immunity in exchange for testifying.

(Dân trí) - UBND TP Hà Nội vừa ra quyết định công nhận TS Đàm Quang Minh giữ chức vụ Hiệu trưởng Trường ĐH FPT theo đề nghị của Hội đồng quản trị FPT và ĐH FPT. TS Đàm Quang Minh sinh năm 1979, năm nay 35 tuổi, hiện là hiệu trưởng đại học trẻ nhất Việt Nam.

Theo đơn kiến nghị của Hội đồng Sư phạm Trường Tiểu học Điện Biên Phủ, tập thể giáo viên nhà trường không đồng ý với quyết định của Phòng GD-ĐT quận Thanh Khê (Đà Nẵng) về việc điều động cô Vương Thị Vân về làm hiệu trưởng của trường vì cô Vân đã từng bị kỷ luật vì sai phạm khó bỏ qua. “Tai tiếng” của cô Vân, phụ huynh học sinh của trường đều biết nên khó tin tưởng một người như cô Vân quản lý, chăm sóc con em ở trường. Đơn kiến nghị này cũng nói rõ: “Nếu luân chuyển Hiệu trưởng thì chúng tôi chấp nhận bất kì Hiệu trưởng mới nào trừ cô Vương Thị Vân trên”. Có khoảng 40 chữ ký của giáo viên trong trường trong đơn kiến nghị phản đối cô Vân về làm hiệu trưởng mới của trường.
